George Blazak

16.11.1946 – 12.11.2021

It is with deep regret that I am sending this message to notify Past Students of Marist College, Rosalie of the passing of our fellow student and friend George Blazak.
Adored Husband of Anne, father of Paul, Adam, Darren and John and their families.
Late of Ferny Hills and formerly of Paddington and Milton.

George passed away peacefully on Friday 12th. November after a long illness surrounded by his loved ones.  George was cherished by his family.

George was educated at Marist College, Rosalie before graduating in the 1962 Senior class.
During his time at Rosalie George was an outstanding sportsman excelling in Cricket and Athletics. In 1962 George was a member of the Senior Athletics Team that beat Ashgrove in the TAS carnival by a wide margin.

George also played for Valley District Cricket Club taking 295 wickets at an average of 14.05. George recently played Veteran’s Cricket representing Queensland in the National Championships and winning two finals to be proclaimed National Champions.
During his working career George worked at the University of Queensland and was involved in many ground breaking research projects with the University of Queensland in the School of Chemistry.

All Rosalie Old Boys and their friends are welcome to attend the Celebration of the life of this special man at St. William’s Catholic Church, Dawson Parade, Grovely, on Tuesday, 23rd. November commencing at 10.30 am.  Sadly taken from us, but will be forever remembered and loved by all who knew him.
