Blessing and official opening of Monastery of the Marist Brothers at Rosalie by Archbishop J Duhig [Dean Lee, Br Osmund, Br Campion, Br Athanasius, Br Denis representing the Provincial in attendance]. Architect –
George Frederick Addison.

St Mary’s College Ashgrove [currently
known as Marist College Ashgrove] –
opened 29/01/1940. 351 students enrolled at Rosalie. 6 June 1948 - Foundation stone of the new Marist Brothers’ College of the Sacred Heart laid and blessed by the Archbishop, Most Reverend James Duhig.

School. Old Boys purchased 1 Apple Computer, 1
VDU and 1 Cassette Recorder for the school. 1983 - New library built (in present position above the laboratories).

October 31 – the Marist Brothers announced that “58” would become the La Valla Centre, a place of faith education for students and teachers.
November 20 – last Year 12 Graduation. November 27 – last Year 10 class graduated. November 30 – Mass of Thanksgiving to mark the closure of the College. December 5 - Mr Peter McFadden completed 29 years as Staff member. December 5 - 80 years of boys’ education completed at 58 Fernberg Road Rosalie.
